At last I got myself a pewter plate via eBay.  Though it's smallish (8" or 20cm diameter) and still in the air between blighty & me.

For my re-enactment meals I now have:
 - pewter mug
 - small pewter plate
 - horn tumbler
 - large horn bowl
 - early vic knife & fork

The next colonial event is early 11th September, so I'm happy to have all this by then.

I was a smidgen amused that while some costume peeps were Under The Redcoats in Colonial Williamsburg USA, I was in the convict ranks being guarded by Redcoats in Sydney AU.

I love the name, though the event itself back in 1804 was probably bloody & to be avoided.
